Our journey began in 2022 when our founder paid a visit to several slum communities in Enugu City, Nigeria, and found the conditions to be unsuitable and inhumane. What started as support for selected families has become a vehicle to convene action for sustainable change in slum communities and rural areas.
The conditions in these communities can have severe physical, emotional, and psychological impacts on slum residents, with children being the most vulnerable.
Our primary focus is creating safe and nurturing environments for children and the mothers who raise them for the attainment of overall physical and mental well-being.
Build capacity in slum communities to identify, address, and advocate for their children's rights and needs.Empower the community, particularly mothers, to implement initiatives that improve children's total health and education outcomes.Provide transitional assistance to families, paired with capacity-building initiatives for economic self-sufficiency and resilience.
Data is critical to developing relevant, inclusive and sustainable solutions. We conduct intensive research to engage the communities and understand the weaknesses and threats that need to be addressed and the strengths and opportunities that we can harness.
Through community-led storytelling, we educate the community, foster cohesion, raise awareness, and challenge existing narratives in the public domain.
Advocate for systemic policy changes. Build the capacity of communities to advocate for themselves and unlock the potential for sustainable transformation.
Create strategic intervention programs and build coalitions of community groups, local organisations, NGOs, local authorities, the private sector, and stakeholders to develop, implement, and support resident-driven transformation projects.
